PETER ABRAHAM, FOUNDER & CEO
Canyon Bikes
Over six years, starting with their launch in North America, our work with Canyon included customer research, strategy, content creation and crisis communications. One of the projects we’re most proud of is leading their sponsorship and support of the world’s first Black college cycling team, at HBCU St Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. This included the creation of a video series documenting the first year of the team and their dozen young athletes. While we worked with Canyon, they were the fastest growing bike brand in the world, and they completely disrupted the global bike business with their innovative DTC business model.
lululemon
We were hired by lululemon to help them connect authentically with runners in Los Angeles through lululemon's unique brand voice. Over two years of work with the brand, we built relationships with the LA run community via the many night run crews in the city. Working closely with the BlacklistLA group and several popular street artists, we created murals and street art in and around downtown Los Angeles. We then connected the art installations with a 4-mile running route and unveiled the initiative before the Olympic Trials Marathon with 600 people on a 10 pm run through the city.
EssilorLuxottica
Luxottica needed to refresh the brand and community of PERC, one of the largest group purchasing organizations in the optometry space, with over 5,000 doctors. Collaborating with veteran brand strategist Meirav Sakalowsky, we went back to basics: extensive stakeholder research, reimagining the mission statement, creation of a new brand identity, building a new strategic marketing plan and updating their data analytics. We rebuilt PERC’s marketing and community management from the ground up.
Best Buy
Best Buy needed to create a campaign that would help sell the new DJI Mavic Air drone on the BestBuy.com website. Collaborating with the Best Buy creative team, we shot a video along the Central Coast of California that showed off this great product and how easy it is to use. This high quality piece of storytelling helped make the DJI Mavic Air one of the world's best selling drones.
UCLA
UCLA wanted to produce a video series that would promote the university as a place rooted in optimism. Working with creative director Neal Foard, we created a video series called The Optimists, each of which featured lively discussion between three noted UCLA personalities on a different topic. We prepped, filmed and edited six episodes. The series was engaging and highlighted thoughtful UCLA leaders discussing fascinating topics: gratitude, brain injuries, diversity in Hollywood, mentorship and more.
Freestyle Studios
Peter and his brother+software engineer John Abraham created this app development studio to build tools for athletes to get better at their sports. These included innovative mobile sports coaching platforms in fast pitch softball, running and golf. Freestyle’s McRun running calculator app and myPackagedDeal softball coaching app both launched as the iOS global leaders in their categories. The apps combine simple UI and engaging content to build effective and inspiring learning tools.
Santa Monica Classic
Benefitting noted environmental non profit Heal the Bay, this race, founded by Peter Abraham, quickly became one of the biggest running events in Southern California. Our innovative approach to media, marketing and customer experience attracted Red Bull, Nike and Whole Foods as key partners. The event was acquired by the Los Angeles Marathon in 2009.
Wilco Film: I Am Trying to Break Your Heart
Named by Rolling Stone as one of the top 40 music films of all time, this film, produced by Peter Abraham, played in 130 cities theatrically and achieved Gold DVD status from the RIAA. Directed by Sam Jones and co-produced with Pat Solomon, the film follows the band through the most turbulent year of their careers. By creating a partnership with Apple, we built Wilco’s first online music community of fans for this film. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart is still considered the seminal piece of storytelling about this influential band.
TEDxUCLA
Abraham founder Peter Abraham spoke about the power of shared physical experience to transform individuals, groups and cities. Based on his extensive experience in the Los Angeles running community, Peter shared stories from his time with the Students Run LA organization, the Los Angeles Marathon and many running clubs. The live audience of 600 people erupted in cheers when Peter introduced in person one of the inspirational runners in the presentation at the end of his talk.
